This is the first in a series of posts how to keep you fashionably warm at different price points and styles, so if you haven't already it's time to either get shopping/clicking or for those on a budget, digging through your wardrobe.
Let’s start with my personal favourite – the blazer!
The blazer has become a staple item for the colder months thanks to it's versatility of being able to be dressed up or down, you can wear it on the weekend, at work and when you want to gussy up!
Take Note
The fit Different people means different tastes. I personally prefer a nice fitted blazer as I’m petite. Any blazer that’s not fitted makes me look like I’m playing dress ups!
The length of the sleeves The usual problem I face is that the sleeves are too long! There is the option to roll your sleeves up or have them altered (which costs money &/or time). But obviously in an ideal world, I would the sleeve length to be just right.
The style/colour When it comes to the blazer, I typically pick the ‘core’ outfit first, then treat the blazer as an accessory to go with the outfit. The black blazer is obviously the most versatile, as it can go with a ‘simple’ to an ‘out-there’ outfit.
The lining This is may not be a necessity for some people, but I love comfortable & soft lining which doesn’t look cheap (even if the blazer itself is!). Not a fan of blazers that look decent on the outside but the lining feels cheap or looks tacky.
The Black Blazer
The black blazer is not difficult to find, fortunately it comes in different styles, fits and price points.

Elizabeth & James (Frock Shop) – Ostrich Feather Blazer $750
With the growing infiltration of blazers, this means more options than the typical black blazer!
The Textured Blazer
This blazer just screams warmth – which is just perfect for Winter. Can be dressed up for work or dressed down to be casual.

The Striped Blazer
Depending on your workplace, you could JUST get away with wearing it in an office. Otherwise it makes perfect Casual Friday material.

Toi Et Moi (General Pants) - L'inverse Blazer $139.95
The Casual Blazer
Doesn’t this blazer look ridiculously comfortable?

Sass & Bide - Take Flight $420
The Loose Fit Blazer
Anything with a loose fit, I would naturally try to balance it out with something more fitted. Like a dress with tights, or tee + leggings.

The Coloured Blazer
Right now the Aussie dollar is amazing, not only that ASOS offer free international shipping!

ASOS (UK) - Cropped Boyfriend Blazer £50
The Blazer in Black (not in my beloved Navy)
My Personal Favourite
My Stella McCartney Navy Blazer (from Tar-jay, or for those who don’t have an accent, Target!) – it ticks all the boxes, has a great fit, sleeve length is perfect, lining is comfortable, price was just right considering how much I love it and it’s in Navy.
