Finders Keepers A/W 2012

Where: CarriageWorks, Redfern
When: 1 & 2 June 2012

One of my favourite markets has rolled around again! The bi-annual designer markets, Finders Keepers was held in Sydney, this time round it’s associated with the Vivid festival.

After attending more than a few Finders Keepers, you start seeing familiar faces and designers mixed in with the n00bs.

Here are only some of the highlights of Finders Keepers.

Uniquely shaped geometric vases and side tables. What is really interesting is that we rarely get to see the process of creation, till now. You can watch how he makes it here

Fun knick knacks which includes mini milk bottles, colourful doornobs and my personal favourite, beakers!

The Super Cool

I always remember the TMOD stall! Last year was all about their chalkboard kits which is paint that can be used as a chalkboard.

This year was all about their Party Hat cards, which is a card that you can literally wear as a party hat! Designs include a sailor, pirate, and magician.

Vintage inspired – think lace, doilies and flower fabrics

Brooke Johnston

Simple silver geometric jewellery

Specialty is using leather for more than just bags, but also brooches and necklaces!

Use of ceramics for jewellery as well as gift tags.

Paper Boat Press

Specialties include wooden brooches and bookmarks.

Bonnie Poplar

Instantly nostalgic – growing up I used to make paper beads! But I could never create anything as elaborate as the designs from Postpress. These beads are created using magazines which are a fantastic and unique way to recycle fashionably.

A first timer at the Sydney Finders Keepers! Ask Alice features adorable stationary which includes notebooks, greeting cards and gift tags.

Ask Alice

An illustrator who also designed the current Finders Keepers flyer!

Andrea Smith

Think quirky with a thing for owls, foxes and rabbits. On everything from clothing, jewellery to home wares.

And it is also one of the few stalls that actually have a Sydney store.
