30 Days FAB: Revlon's Show Weekend Look

I was lucky to be able to catch up with Alison Morgan, the Creative Director for the 30 Days of Fashion and Beauty’s Show Weekend to go through the process of getting glammed up for Show Weekend consisting of a hectic schedule of back to back shows for 2 days straight (8 shows per day) for what really is the marathon of modelling.

Alison is a freelance makeup artist who has been in the business for 15 years, with the catch up more like a 1:1 makeup lesson, I even got my eyebrows done (she offered!).

Our catch up was just before the very last show of Show Weekend with the lovely model Valentina from Chic Model Management being ‘the face’ of the interview. Despite a 6am start, and seven back to back shows which involve lots of changing and bright lighting, she does not look too bad eh?

As all makeup at Show Weekend was provided by Revlon with the “hero product is Revlon’s ColorStay Foundation.” The makeup for the full face started at the “ungodly hour” of 6am for a 9am start where they do the full makeup for the day, then it is just touch ups for the rest of the day.

The Revlon look for Show Weekend can be described simply as soft, glowy, feminine, structured face, softly defined eye and glossy lip.

Here are the steps for Revlon’s 30 Days of Fashion and Beauty look:

30 Days FAB Revlon Makeup
1. With pre-moistured skin, use PhotoReady Perfecting Primer

2. Take time to apply the ColorStay Foundation and buff into the skin. Then for some models who are a bit shiny under the light they used the PhotoReady Translucent Finisher.

3. Start contouring the face to create a “modern, fresh structured face” by using the PhotoReady Sculpting Brush with the palette and use to contour the cheekbone sockets, temple, hairline and then blush “really softly” on the apples of the cheeks.

4. If you do not want a “glowy look” just highlight the cheek bone. Otherwise if you do, also highlight the brow bone, tips on the bridge of the nose, up on the forehead and cupid’s bow “just to give it that really fresh glow.”

5. Fill in the brows using the ColorStay Eyebrow Liner to "make them “full and slightly defined.”

6. Then use “just a bit” of bronzer to give a “healthy warmth” for the skin, and then actually use it over the eye lids blended with the brown shade from the ColorStay Attitude Eye Shadow Quad, and finish off with the ColorStay Eyeliner.

7. As they are on the stage, the models have false eyelashes topped off with the Grow Luscious Plumping Mascara.

8. For the lips, they have used lip butters as well as the ColorStay Lipstick. For most of the shows they have used the shade “Cupcake” while when a nude colour is needed they used the ColorBurst Lipstick in “Softly Nude.” Then for a extra girly glow, on top they applied Revlon Lip Gloss.

Once the “full face” is done which she estimated would take only 15 minutes.

For the rest of the day it is simply just touch ups for a maximum of 2 minutes for every few hours. For the shows they used Revlon’s PhotoReady Concealer but of course there is also, Revlon’s ColorStay Concealer.

Thank you to Alison and Valentina

*Yes I know in Australia we spell “colour” like this, not “color.” For the sake of Revlon’s branding, I am using “ColorStay”
