I absolutely love it when attendees really get into the spirit of the event, the Fifties Fair is simply a much more fabulous version of cosplay – it was so enjoyable to see all the lovely ladies and gents who took the time to get gussied up for our enjoyment both those on and off the stage.
The Fifties Fair featured a Best Dressed competition with 4 categories for Best Dressed including Female, Male, Child and Group.
Best Dressed Female
Unsurprisingly, it was the female category had the most contestants.
Seeing the sea of colour which crossed the stage made me envious of their wardrobe and I admired the great lengths they went to look fabulous.
Despite all the colour, the winner was dressed in all black and had the biggest reaction from the crowd and the judges.
Best Dressed Child
As a child I would have been terrified to get up on a big stage, fortunately these children are not like me!
Especially the young winner who is the epitome of confidence, who can best be described as ‘Little Miss Chanel.’
Best Dressed Group
This couple was my favourite Best Dressed Group, the level of difficulty to find a sweater vest which matched her dress is a true testament to a keen eye. Ultimately they are my favourite because of her outfit. The dress on it’s own is cute, however the it is the matching blue flower and the fact that she can work a green snood is the icing on an already beautiful cake!
However, that being said the winners were completely deserving this fabulous family of 4 looked like they stepped straight out of the Fifties! and got a crazy reaction from the crowd.
And this baby just proves you are never too young to dress fabulous.
Best Dressed Male
The Best Dressed Male only had a handful of contestants which was disappointing since there were many fine young gentlemen around the Fifties Fair itself (unsurprisingly, most of whom are taken).
The winner was dressed in 1950’s gangster style.
But do not let the suit fool you, underneath he is rocking a funky tie!
Here are some of his worthy competitors.
The best dressed competition is a great way to see the best of the best dressed at the Fifties Fair. However, there were a substantial number of attendees who could have given the winners a run for their money and I am assuming they simply did not even bother to enter!
Congratulations to all the winners, and thank you to all the contestants who braved the stage for our enjoyment.
I attended the Fifties Fair as a media guest
