The Big Week of Beauty is an initiative by Pacific magazines (Marie Claire, Famous and InStyle) and is the mastermind of the Marie Claire team led by the editor and ambassador, Jackie Frank to support beauty brands and retailers who are doing it tough. From October 22-28, it is a week filled with beauty events and special offers at Myer and David Jones.

The launch featured the red carpet, a live band, swing dancers and a magician – all of this on a Tuesday night!
The night started off with the red carpet…
Stephanie Rice

Elka Whalan

Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies

The night was MC’ed by the Channel 7’s Morning Show duo, Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies – who’s sense of humour was definitely not PG!

Marie Claire editor, Jackie Frank took the stage.

Jackie Frank brought Sally Obermeder into the spotlight to celebrate the fact that she has recently beaten breast cancer! which was a very sweet yet teary moment.

There was a fun array of entertainers from a hat juggler, swing dancers and my personal favourite, the magician David Dodgen. Magic literally happened before my eyes!

And finally to top off the night, the goodie bags. Remember those pick ‘n’ mix lolly bags – this was the same concept but even better because it was make up!
There was a mixture of full size and samples from Jurlique, Clinique, Napoleon Perdis, YSL, MOR and more.
