Let’s start with the obvious, the vast majority of Niki Teljega’s the collection is not wearable for the mere mortal, fortunately it would be safe to assume that this is the intention. But that’s what made the collection unique to the other designers on the Fashion Palette line-up.
The collection consisted of dresses with 2 extremes: full length or extremely short hemlines - with the exception of a full body jumpsuit. The collection was characterised by dramatic volume and textured fabrics.
While the collection was definitely not wearable for the majority of us ‘normal’ folk - you pretty much need a good set of pins or an occasion to wear a dramatic piece. On the Fashion Palette runway it was at least entertaining to witness pieces that were not so commercial.
