The last bit of Supanova coverage… tear!
Saturday is probably the best day for cosplay, as Supanova Sydney hosted both the Madman National Cosplay Championship Round AND the Madman Cosplay Competition.
Let’s start with the winners, ay?
Best Skit (Advanced)
"Holding Out for a Hero" by Bonnie Tyler made 2 appearances during the SAME competition... a song from 1984, a classic but what are the odds!
The cosplay was for Disney's Hercules with the ladies dressed to the whites as the muses Calliope, Terpsichore, Melpomene, Thalia and Cleo. It was... "AMUSEing" and superbly choreographed.

Best Group (Advanced)
"Where are my Dragon's... BALLS?"Such a deep question... This group cosplay was of course a tribute to Dragonball Z and featured the winner of the Sydney round of the Madman Cosplay Championship, Freiza shimself!

Best Costume (Standard + Advanced)
The standard winner was Joffrey Baratheon from Game of Thrones and the advanced winner was Adepta Sororitas from Warhammer 40K.A bit of a coincidence that their costumes look a bit matchy matchy?

Best Cosplay (Advanced)
Ah, Bonnie Tyler we meet again...
Clearly using the same song, "Holding out for a Hero" turned out to be an advantage as both competitors won their categories!
Gilderoy Lockheart from Harry Potter, totes gave the classic justice... bravo!

Judge's Award + Best Skit (Standard)
He lights up! A fantastic effort as Iron Man from the imaginatively titled film, Iron Man 2.I know "Tequila Se'lai" won the award for the skit as Tali and Shepard from Mass Effect but honestly, whatevs their costumes were epic... and they light up!

Best Group (Standard)
The group was called, "The LoL Orgy"...Should be interesting to see what kind of visitors will be hitting up my site via Google.
Thanks for the traffic League of Legends!

The Competitors
Just because you don't win, doesn't make it any less epic. I continue to be surprised and delighted with the quality and dedication from those who brave the stage to those who loiter around the grounds.
Last year's winners of Best Skit (standard)... same costumes... different skit... same screams from women.

How creepy is the NON contrived shot? Watch yo back Banana Man!

I attended Supanova as a media guest.
